WACHENHEIM

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Alzey-Worms
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Monsheim

Wappen von Wachenheim/Arms (crest) of Wachenheim
Official blazon
German In Gold drei schwarze Wachteln (2:1).
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 12, 1927.

The arms are canting, showing three quails (Wachteln). The arms are based on the arms of the local Lords of Druschel, who already used three birds on their arms in 1280. The birds later changed into the quails.

All old seals of the village, however, showed the local patron saint, St. Anthony with a fish. On one seal, from 1652, shows the saint holding a small shield with the letter W.
