Origin/meaning

The local council did not use arms or seals until 1763, when a seal was made showing an acorn, a star and the letter W. The figures were not placed in a shield. The above arms appear on a seal dating from 1820. The colours were defined in 1904. The origin or meaning of the acorn is not known.
