Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The oldest known seal of the town dates from the late 17th century and only shows a helmet and above the helmet a small angel. The second seal dates from the 18th century and shows the above arms, which were granted officially on June 26, 1847. The colours, however, were not described at the time, but have been used as such since around 1845.

The meaning or origin of the helmet is not known. The castle in the lower half most likely is the castle in the town that was owned by a branch of the Dukes of Württemberg.
