(1951) Coupé: au premier d'argent à un arbre terrassé, à un loup passant, baté les deux paniers remplis de pierres, tenant de la patte dextre une crosse posée en barre, posé sur la terrasse, le tout au naturel; au second de sable au navire d'or gréé d'argent, le mât surmonté d'une couronne comtale d'or.
(1979) Coupé, au 1er d'argent à un loup passant, bâté. de deux paniers remplis de pieres, tenant de la patte dextre une crosse posée en barre, adextré d'un arbre, le tout au naturel et posé sur une terasse de sinople au 2e de sable à une bélandre d'or gréé d'argent, le mât surmonté d'une couronne d'or à neuf perles.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 19, 1951 and again on March 29, 1979.

The upper half shows the arms of the Abbey of Stavelot, to which the area historically belonged. The lower half shows the arms of the Mirwart family, last Lords of Wellin in the 18th century.

After the merger in 1977 the arms were confirmed and not changed.
