  • Wapen: Deursnede en geknobbel, silwer en rooi, in die skildvoet 'n gestingelde silwer druiwetros, goud geblaar; 'n geweldvormig geknobbelde blou skildhoof.
  • Helmteken: 'n Muurkroon met drie uitkomende torings, alles silwer.
  • Skildhouers: Twee malgasse met opgehewe vleuels van natuurlike kleur.
  • Wapenspreuk: SPE ET FORTITUDINE

  • Arms: Per fess nowy, Argent and Gules, in base a bunch of grapes slipped Argent, leaved Or; a chief nowy of a gable Azure.
  • Crest: A mural crown with three towers issuant, Argent.
  • Supporters: Two Cape gannet with wings elevated, proper.
  • Motto: SPE ET FORTITUDINE

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 30, 1988.

The bunch of grapes symbolises the area as the principal wine-growing site of South Africa. In chief a Cape-Dutch gable a distinctive architectural feature in the area. Supporters are two Malgas (Cape Gannet).
