Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 22, 2014.

The cross reflects the arms of Fitzwilliam College, where Lutheran students associated with Westfield House have pursued Cambridge degrees.

The book alludes to Holy Scriptures, the Lutheran Confessions and educational learning and knowledge. The Luther rose symbolises the Christian Faith.

The rearing white horse is a reference to the White Horse Inn, a former Cambridge pub where the works of Martin Luther were read and discussed.

The bridge refers to Cambridge and also to the many connections Westfield House enjoys as a theological educational institution.

The motto Fidelis et verax means Faithful and True.
