Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1929 and show the importance of the viniculture in the area. The composition of three bunches and 6 leaves can already be found on the oldest known seals of the town, dating from the 15th and 16^th century. In 1615 the town became part of the Pfalz and the seals now showed the lion of the Pfalz holding a bunch of grapes in its paw.
