Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 27, 1953.

The arms are based on images of the seal dating from the 16^th century. The red and blue are derived from the arms of the Abbey of Kempten, to which the area belonged until the early 19^th century. The two arrows are most likely derived from the arms of the Lords of Ettenried, who originated from the village.
