WINDISCHESCHENBACH

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Neustadt an der Waldnaab
Additions : 1972 Bernstein, Naabdemenreuth, Neuhaus (1946 Dietersdorf)

Wappen von Windischeschenbach

Official blazon

(de) In Rot ein silberner Wellenbalken, darin ein waagrechter blauer Fisch; oben zwei sechsstrahlige goldene Sterne, unten ein solcher.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1553, but the original document does no longer exist. The oldest seal dates from the same time and shows the above arms. The fish (described as a Äsche) and the wavy bar (Bach=brook, stream) are canting elements. The stars symbolise the historical county of Störnstein.

Wappen von Windischeschenbach

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
