Origin/meaning

The oldest known seal of the village is known from the early 19th century and shows the old village sign, which was similar to the sign of Ottersdorf and Plittersdorf. To avoid confusion, the State Archives proposed in 1900 new arms.

The arms show the sword as a symbol of the patron saint St. Michael. The colours are the colours of Baden, as no historical colours were known.
