Origin/meaning

Ober-Eschenbach (since 1917 Wolframs-Eschenbach) received town rights in 1332 and the oldest seal dates from the same time. The seal already showed the above arms. The wavy bend probably symbolises the Eschenbach (Bach=stream, brook). The arms never changed, although sometimes the bend was shown from right to left.

The colours are known since 1450, but have often changed, see image below by Hupp in the 1920s.
