Official blason:
Geviert; 1 und 4: wieder geviert von Schwarz und Silber; 2 und 3: in Silber der blaue Großbuchstabe W.

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on November 6, 1962.

Wonsees received town rights from Ludwig of Bayern in 1323, but the oldest seal dates from the 16th century. The seal already showed the present arms, which are also known from different other 17th and 18th century sources. The arms thus have not changed since.

The arms show in the first and fourth quarter the arms of the Hohenzollern family, as Margraves of Nürnberg. The town historically belonged to Nürnberg. The two other quarters show the town's initial (compare also Wunsiedel). The present arms were officially granted in 1962.
