Selected collector's items from Germany:

PLETTENBERG-LAND

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Märkischer Kreis (until 1975 Lüdenscheid (until 1969 Altena))
Amt : Amt Plettenberg
Incorporated into : 1941 Plettenberg

Wappen von Plettenberg-Land

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 16, 1935.

The arms show the bar taken from the arms of the Counts of the Mark, who ruled the area in the medieval times. The divided shield of gold and blue is the historical arms of the Lords of Plettenberg. Similar arms were used by the Amt Plettenberg.
