Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 13, 1961.

The three balls in the dexter half of the shield are the well-known attribute of St. Nicolaus, Bishop of Myra.
The two lozenges countercharged in the sinister half are the arms of the Benedictine abbey of Admont, who was the owner of these lands for centuries. The original tinctures were changed to blue and white in this grant.
