AVERØY

Province : Møre og Romsdal
Additions : 1964 Bremsnes, Kornstad, Kvernes

Arms (crest) of Averøy
Official blazon
Norwegian

I rødt tre nedvendte gull pilspisser

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 4, 1986.

The arms show three pre-historic arrow points, which have been found near the village. The arrows thus symbolise the long inhabitation of the area.
