Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 26, 1849.

The arms are derived from the common seal of Doel and Kieldrecht from the 16th century. The ship probably shows the importance of shipping on the Schelde river, and/or the many inundations caused by the river. The small shields with the fleur-de-lis are of unknown origin. The letter D is the town's initial. See also the arms of Kieldrecht.

Literature: Servais, 1955
