SARMENSTORF

Canton : Aargau

Wappen von Sarmenstorf

Official blazon

In Rot zwei gekreuzte gelbe Pilgerstäbe.

Origin/meaning

The arms show two pilgim's staffs. These are derived from a local legend, in which two pilgrims were killed. Both pilgrims, Kaspar von Brunnaschwyl and Erhard von Sachsen are supposedly buried in the village. The arms already appear, in different colours, for the municipality already since medieval times.
