Escudo de vermelho, com sete setas de ouro enfeixadas, com os ferros apontados ao contra-chefe, atadas de prata; em chefe um açor de sua cor voando, tendo uma quina de Portugal nas garras. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco com os dizeres : " PONTA DELGADA ", em letras de negro.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 24, 1946.

Unfortunately I have no background information on these arms. Any information is welcome  !
