802ND COMMUNICATIONS SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Designated as 2162 Communications Squadron, and activated, on 1 October 1979. Redesignated as: 2162 Information Systems Squadron on 1 July 1985; 2162 Communications Squadron on 1 November 1986. Inactivated on 15 May 1992. Redesignated as 802 Communications Squadron on 28 July 2009. Activated on 31 January 2010.
