The arms shows in the right half the bear of [[Sankt Gallen (city)|Sankt Gallen]]. The village was a possession of this Swiss monastery from the 8<sup>th</sup> century until 1297. The left half shows the cross [[Freiburg]] city, that owned the village from 1492-1805.
