History: The 1st and 4th Reconnaissance Squadrons for the 1st and 4th Infantry Divisions ws created in the early 1950ies.

Origin/meaning
The 1st and 4th Reconnaissance Squadrons, first used the 1st Pattern Badge with Squadron Numbers, but in 1953 they adopted the 2nd Pattern Badge without Squadron Numbers.
