Origin/meaning
The chief recalls the situation of the Village of Grenville near the waters of the Ottawa River and the fleur-de-lis symbolizes the Francophone element of the population.
The cross, in addition to representing the English-speaking element, originates from the coat of arms of Lord Grenville, the English statesman who gave his name to the village.
The cannon placed in the center highlights the Grenville military origin at the head of the Long-Sault Canal. The other elements refer to the industries in the village.
