703RD AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History: Constituted as 1 Materiel Squadron, 2 Air Base Group c. 22 August 1940. Activated on 1 September 1940. Redesignated as: 3 Materiel Squadron on 17 January 1941; 3 Service Squadron on 13 June 1942; 3 Engineering Squadron on 10 May 1944; 3 Air Engineering Squadron c. January 1945. Inactivated on 17 January 1946. Disbanded on 8 October 1948. Reconstituted, and redesignated as 703 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, on 17 December 2002. Activated on 10 January 2003.
