SANKT OSWALD-MÖDERBRUGG
State : Steiermark
District : Judenburg
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 13th, 1994.
St. Oswald is a patron saint of miners. One of his attributes is a jar of ointment, another a banner of the arms of England (Oswald was a prince of one of the seven Saxon kingdoms in today's England). So the jar of ointment and a leopard (for England) were put into the arms along with the Möderbrücke, a bridge documented since the Middle Ages.
