Escudo de Querol

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'or, un castell de gules obert acostat de dos cérvols d'atzur. Per timbre una corona de baró.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 6th April 1999.

The arms show the local castle (10th century), that was the centre of a barony since the 13th century; it belonged to the Cervelló family, represented here twice by their canting arms; a deer passant Azure on Or (a deer is named "cérvol" in Catalan). At the top of the arms, there is the baron's crown. T
