Heraldic printing stereotypes collection

This collection comprises over 100 stereotypes used for printing municipal arms between 1952-1982. They were all used for different newspapers in Bavaria and thus mainly show Bavarian arms.

A stereotype was used in printing and thus is a mirror image of the arms itself. They were made from metal or hard plastic and examples of both are included in the collection. They were obtained from someone who 'rescued' them from a defunct printing house.

The stereotypes in the collection

All are mirror images of the actual arms !
