Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the arms of the Lords of Buchsee (see also Münchenbuchsee). The arms were officially adopted in 1945.

Until 2016 the arms showed a rather arbitrary number of leaves. The new arms from 2016 reduce the number to 6 for the villages Ober- and Unterönz, Wanzwil, Röthenbach and Heimenhausen.
