ARRIACH
State : Kärnten
District : Villach-Land
Origin/meaning
The arms wer eofficially granted on May 19, 1971.
The main charge in the arms is a Communion Chalice, the lesser charges are a Chi-Rho and a Lutheran rose. All of the charges are linked to Protestantism. Arriach is one of these parts of Carinthia, where Protestants outlasted the Catholic Reform (Counter Reformation) of the Habsburg dynasty.
The green field symbolises the agricultural character of the municipality.
