Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 2014.

The arms show the patron saint of the local church (founded 1592), St. Nicholas as a bishop.

Previously the village used arms with the bishop and two small shields, one with the arms of the province, and one with the letter Z. The saint also did not hold his common symbol, thre eballs, but an unspecified bag. In 2014 it was decided to show the saint in a more proper way and remove the two small shields.
