GEORG BÄTZING

Born : April 13, 1961
Deceased :

Bishop of Limburg, 2016-present

Arms of Georg Bätzing

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The cross and serpent are the non-official arms of the diocese. The cross also refers to the Diocese of Trier, the diocese where he originated from. The dragon and staff symbolise St. George, patron saint of both the diocese of Limburg as well as the bishop himself. The base is taken from the arms of Niederfischbach, where he was born.
