The arms show the local monument for warriors of the Vytis partisan district: it symbolizes patriotism, courage, vigilance and self-sacrifice in the fight against evil. The black colour is canting for the Juoda river flowing from Juodis lake (“juoda” refers to “black” in Lithuanian)in the municipality; also it symbolizes soil.
