Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 15, 2010.

The wavy bends refer to the Etzbach anc Nister rivers in the village. They join the Sieg, which is shown as a wavy pale.

The lion is taken from the arms of the County Sayn-Hachenburg to which th evillage historically belonged. The owl refers to the nature and the many owls that can be found in the area. It is also the symbol of the Etzbacher Eulen society in the village. The green also refers to agriculture and nature. The fish refers to the many fish in the rivers.
