Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 14, 1989.

The arms show the castle of Guardiola. The village was under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the monastery of Sant Llorenç prop Bagà, that is reminded by the two grids at each side of the castle, the attributes of St. Lawrence.
