Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on October 25, 2021.
The bee is a symbol for St. Symphorien, the patron saint of the village of Saint-Symphorien. The crosier is a symbol for St. Romain, patron saint of Ancelles.
The base shows the waves of the Saône river and the crown of Charlemagne. The treaty of Verdun, signed by Charlemagne, was prepared on the island of Ancelles. The anchor refers to the former harbour of Saint-Romain-des-îles.
