Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and adopted in 1960.

The four quarters represent four families that played an important role in the local history.
The first quarter shows t he arms of the De Grainville family from the 15^th century. The second quarter the arms of the De Boulainvilliers family who ruled the village from the 15th to the 17^th century. The arms of their successors, the Blondel de Joigny-Bellebrune family is shown in the 3rd quarter. The arms in the 4th quarter shoe the arms of the de Monthiers de Bois-Roger family who owned the village at the end of the 18^th century until the French Revolution.
