Origin/meaning
The upper part of the arms, show the arms of the Counts of Nidau (descendants of the Counts of Neuchâtel), which were also used by the village Gotsttadt in the municipality. The lower part shows the fields around the Büttenberg mountain and the Aare river that runs through these.
