Origin/meaning

The arms show a still which refers to Jean-Pierre Montégut born in 1776 who, for 60 years, was a famous distiller of the Armagnac, Bigorre and Languedoc regions.

The snails refer to the nickname of the villagers 'les escargouillès', or the snails.
