Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 18, 1953.

The arms are taken from the logo of the local iron works, which in turn was taken from the arms of one of the owners of the factory, Johan Carl Adelswärd (1776-1852). The sword thus was a canting element (svärd).
