Selected collector's items from Germany:

ÜBACH-PALENBERG

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Heinsberg

Wappen von Übach-Palenberg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1937 and show in the upper part the sceptre of the abbey of Thorn, to which the town belonged. The same symbol is used by Ubach over Worms, a Dutch municipality, right across the border.

The lower part shows the lions of Jülich (black) and to the left the lion of Heinsberg. Parts of the municipality belonged to either Jülich or Heinsberg for many centuries.
