555TH ENGINEER BRIGADE, US ARMY

History: The Brigade traces its origin to the 1103rd Combat Engineer Group raised in 1943. The 1103rd become the 555th Composite Service Group on 5 March 1947. The Group becom 555th Engineer Brigade in 2007. Served in Europe in World War II. Served in Iraq April 2003- March 2004, October 2005 - September 2006 and September 2008 - September 2009. In 2013 the Brigade served in Afghanistan.
