ABBIATEGRASSO
Region : Lombardia
Province : Milano
Italian | D'azzurro al leone d'oro, lampassato di rosso, coronato all'antica del secondo. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 19, 1930.
Abbiategrasso received city rights in 1373, but the oldest use of the arms dates from the 15th century. The oldest arms showed the local patron saint, St. Peter, holding a shield with a red lion. Later the supporter was removed and the colours of the lion changed.
