Origin/meaning

The stick, called añepa, is a symbol of power of the old Guanches.
The bowls are symbolizing, that Adeje was capital of one of the most important mini-kingdoms, called "menceyatos" in prehispanic times.
The tower is an image of the Casa Fuerte, the residence of the Lords of Adeje, who gained the title of a marquess, which is also reflected by the coronet.
The image on the base is symbolizing the importance of touristic activities at the shores of the municipality.
