ADORF (Vogtland)

State : Sachsen
District (Kreis) : Vogtlandkreis (until 1996 Oelsnitz)
Additions : 1950 Arnsgrün, Freiberg, Jugelsburg, Remtengrün, 1994 Gettengrün (1950 Obergettengrün, Untergettengrün), Rebersreuth; 1999 Leubetha

Origin/meaning :
Adorf was founded as a city around 1290 by the Lords of Plauen and became a possession of the Counts of Meissen. The arms have been used since the 14th century and show the lion of the Lords of Plauen.

The colours did not change, but still Hupp showed the arms with a red field (see image below).
