Selected collector's items from Germany:

AHNEBY

State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Schleswig-Flensburg (until 1974 Schleswig)
Amt : Amt Geltinger Bucht (until 2008 Amt Steinbergkirche)

Wappen von Ahneby
Official blazon
German

In Blau unter einem goldenen Bronzebeil ein abgesenkter, oben durchbrochener und endgespitzter Wellensparren, darunter ein goldenes Spiralarmband.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 28, 2006.

The area of the municipality was already settled in the Bronze Age, which was proven by the bronze axe as well as the golden spiral-shaped bracelet that were found near the village. The axe is of Anglo-Irish style and thus probably imported to the region.

The two wavy bars symbolise the change of direction of the water on both sides of the local hills; in the Western part the water runs into the North Sea, in the Easter part to the Baltic Sea.

The blue and silver colours are taken from the arms of the historical region of Nieharde, to which the village belonged. The gold is taken from the arms of Steinbergkirche, the capital of the Amt.
