Wappen von Assenheim (Niddatal)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

Assenheim received city rights a little before 1275 and the oldest known seal dates from about the same time. It already shows the rather odd-shaped tower. All later seals and images show the same tower, with one exception. In the 17th century the city used a seal with the combined arms of Solms and Hanau, the ruling dynasties over the city at the time.

The meaning of the tower, or what tower actually is shown, is not known.
