Wappen von Basedow (Herzogtum Lauenburg)
Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 24, 1986.

The name Basedow means in the Wenden language Buchenhorst, or group of beech-trees. Hence the upper part of the arms shows four beech leaves. The lower half shows a bracelet, symbol for the prehistoric finds in the municipality. The green colour symbolises that agriculture is the main activity in the village and the golden bordure symbolises the coherence of the villagers.
