The fleur-de-lis is a traditional sign of the arms of the village; since its origins, Bell-lloc has been linked to Lleida, and the fleur-de-lis is an allusion to the lilies on the arms of [[Lleida]]. In fact, the territory of Bell-lloc was conquered to the Muslims in 1149 at the same time as Lleida by the count-king Ramon Berenguer, and was given to a count's knight, Bernat de Bell-lloc, in 1153.
