In Silber über grünem, mit einem silbernen Heidschnuckenschädel belegten Schildfuß eine stilisierte grüne Eiche mit goldenen Früchten.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1957 when the city status was granted.

The upper half shows the protected 100-year old oak tree in Bergen. The skull in the base is a skull of a sheep and indicates the fact that the city is situated in the Lüneburger Heide.
