District (Kreis) : Greiz

Wappen von Bethenhausen/Arms (crest) of Bethenhausen
Official blazon
German In Gold eine gezinnte rote Spitze, belegt mit zwei betenden goldenen Händen; beseitet von je einem grünen Lindenblatt.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 30, 1994.

The two hands are raised in prayer and are used as a canting element, Beten means to pray. The red roof-shaped point is also a canting element as it resembles a house.

The two linden trees symbolise the historical guesthouse Zur Linde in the village. The spring of the Brahme river also is located in the guesthouse. The leaves at the same time refer to the forests and nature in the area as well as to the two villages in the municipality.
