BIAŁOWIEŻA

Province: Podlaskie
County: Hajnówka

Coat of arms (crest) of Białowieża
Official blazon
Polish blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on November 25, 2011.

The arms show a canting white tower and a head of a wisent (European bison). This, together with the green colour, refers to the Białowieża forest, a large nature reserve and the last place the wisent survived in the wild.

The municipality first adopted a logo in 1990 with the same symbolism. This was changed into proper arms in 2011.
